Wow...I came back on here to check if anyone had commented on my original post...WoW.

I did not wish to stir up a hornets nest.I also think that some peoples comments are personal attacks against others that are just vioceing there opinions.

This forum has mostly always been fair and let everyone have there say,having read through these 6 pages some comments are spitefull.

All I said was my car had to go .I am in a position ,like other people on this forum that when we get to our age we can afford to change our (toy) car sooner than some other people.I also made a comment about the used value,thats all.
I have bought a Boxster ,it was not 3000 more than I paid for the Crossfire when it was new.I will probably change the Boxster when that gets to 14 month old.

One lady member said she did not believe that I paid 55,000 Dollars for the Crossfire,the price I paid was in Pounds and that equated to the dollar amount.I have no reason to lie to this forumeveryone in the UK paid that amount for the car when it was released.That was the price you paid, or you did not get one.

I still love the Crossfire,to some of you thats the only reason to keep it ,then I am happy for you .I dont meen that in a bad way ,please be happy for me if I want to change my car.But please also let me have an opinion.

Most of us older guys will remember the Chrysler 180 that was a car produced for the UK and Europe only, Chrysler did the same with that product,reduced the price twice in the first year and twice in the second year,you could not give them away.If you owned one (as I did ) you will know.

As I said in my original thread I WILL own another Crossfire but it will be a used SRT6 in about 14 months time .I guess I will pick one up half price..

I think you got the message most of us were trying to get across; if you're not going to keep the vehicle for long, buy a good "used" one, one that has already depreciated and the original owner took the price hit. I will say it again though, this depreciating result applies to all new car purchases and all manufacturers. The more expensive the purchase, the bigger the hit. Hope you enjoy your Boxster.

 

you should have leased it in a pcp with a fixed value at the end of two years - no headache then !
I have a fixed value of 70% of the price I paid in March 2004 - expires March 2006.
I blame the current value dfrop on idiots like Top Gear presenters>
