Default 3 valve engine

I was just watching a How It's Made episode on Velocity channel about the Pagani Huayra supercar which goes for 1 mil +. The engine is a V12 from AMG with 3 valve technology, essentially 2 of our sixes end to end. Interesting that they would choose this as their powerplant since I recall someone on this site saying this is archaic technology. Evidently NOT.

Was me and it is. Figures I've seen say 48 valves/DOHC and that would be 4 per cyl and it is a 60 degree V12, not a 90 so closer to the M276 than the Crossie. It is also akin to the Pentastar except it has direct injection & boost (the Next Big Thing IMNSHO)

I enjoy the antics on Velocity. The accuracy is ludicrous but you have to be obcessed to notice. It is better than the comedy channel but the sans coulottes will never twig.

You may be right but they did say 3 valves per. They also showed the engine wothout the valve covers, it certainly looked like 3.

And twin plugs as well.
