I had a similar time installing mine. I trimed the TVT tubes at each end where the bulge is(was) and then cut both ends of the reduction piece from NW so it was just long enough on each side to firmly hold the clamps. That let me get it closed to the radiator and fit the TVT tubes in snugly. I slid the coupler down onto the TVT tubes and when I had them in place, slide the coupler back up onto the box input. This makes everything much more solid than the factory SL55 tubes and gets even more air back to the TB....

All I can figure is that the filter boxes on the template car must have
been set a bit farther back than mine. Either that, or I didn't understand
something about the install. In any case, it is in and it looks great.
You are right about SC whine. I hear it much better now. Certainly seems
to be breathing better. I haven't a clue how accurate the Kat Matrix is,
but I like the numbers I'm seeing.
One other thing I noticed when I was taking the grill out. The two screw
flanges on either end were cracked through. Only the center screws and
the tabs on the bottom are holding it down right now. Seems stable, but
I may want to look into replacing it before it blows off.
