Regardless, the quality of Fram filters is no where near what it used to be.
While they will not rdestroy an engine, there have been problems (canister type especially). Splitting seams, cheap cardboard "valves" that quickly fail, rubber seals the fall off, and colapsing filter material. Simply just not worth the risk on a car you care about.
