Walmart has Fram oil filters

While they will not rdestroy an engine, there have been problems (canister type especially). Splitting seams, cheap cardboard "valves" that quickly fail, rubber seals the fall off, and colapsing filter material. Simply just not worth the risk on a car you care about.

Have only used Fram oil filters on my Crossfire, just MAKE SURE TO CHANGE THEM OUT EVERY 3000 miles or 6 months (depending on driving habits).
They work fine, they just need to be replaced more quickly than fleece.

Considering you can get the fleece filters for around $12, what would the advantage be to buying a paper one and changing it more than twice as often as you would a fleece filter. I am not seeing any advantages to this, and several potential pitfalls.

I use this site for my S80T6 Volvo. I am inthe process of getting a 2008 Limited Coupe.
Is this the correct oil filter for the Crossfire?

That's the boy allright, good price.
I purchased one of those Fram oil filters at WalMart. Big Mistake!
Let me start by saying I like WalMart. The only reason I bought the Fram filter there is because that is where I buy my Mobile 1 oil and pretty much everything else. I was working under the "if WalMart don't sell it, I don't need it" theory. I am not slamming WalMart here...just Fram oil filters.
I have known for years that Fram canister-type oil filters are an inferior product. They use cardboard components for their end caps, their check valves are prone to failure, their canisters are flimsy and they skimp on filter media. But, hey, the cartridge looked decent enough and it sure was cheap (I do like bargains).
I should also say that I always change my own oil. Bought the car with 24k miles and now has 90k. I've done seven oil changes now. I did not damage the o rings or drop anything into the filter assembly or commit any other typical 'user error.'
Upon unpacking and inspecting the parts I thought the o rings were odd (squareish). The squareish shape is difficult to explain, but I will try: If you were to cut the rings and pull them into a strand, they would be square at the end -- not round. It was as though they were cut from a rubber tube, rather than being made from rounded rubber strands. Deves piston rings are squared like this, and they are a great product, so the squareish appearance of the rings didn't prevent me from installing them.
So, I installed the Fram filter and the new "O" rings that came with it. The good news is that no oil leaked for about a week. Unfortunately, that was about it.
The best description of the catastrophic oil leak that soon followed is that my car 'puked' oil from the filter assembly. So much oil came spewing out that my serpentine belt slipped off. Oil was everywhere! Quarts of beautiful, new, expensive synthetic oil were all over my [previously immaculately clean] engine bay.
I replaced the belt and cleaned the oil from the engine using Simple Green (one of my favorite products). My alternator failed shortly thereafter. I can’t prove it was due to it being oil drenched, but I am suspicious.
In summary: Fram oil filters suck. Don’t use them on any vehicle you like.
