When you remove the wing, there is a piece of metal that is infused to the wing mount that has the mounting bolts coming from it, that you secure to the hatch. That metal that has the bolts is not painted & is bare metal. This is what rusts!!!
Why the heck they wouldn't paint that metal???? I have no idea! Just scrape it down, to remove the rust, then paint the metal or treat it with rust inhibitor. I used the clear por 15 on mine & it came out great!
Now I have to do the Ragtop!
