another alarm gone wild
Symptoms:
1. lights start flashing with no alarm sound for no apparent reason
2. when using key fob to disable - alarm siren starts
3.Cannot deactivate alarm with key fob or starting car - only way is to disconnect battery. ( I read several posts where disconnecting battery would not stop alarm but it does.) After connecting battery again, alarm starts after 1or 2 min. usually starting with several dying chirp sounds, then erractic chirps then full alarm again
Car starts and runs fine - I removed alarm fuse and central locking fuse to stop alarm and flashers.
4. Key fob does work except for panic button. only operates flashers - no siren
5. Load test rules out battery
My suspicion is it has something to do with the tow sensors.
Could be the bcm or some other faulty tow module.
I have no warranty so need to narrow it down if possible to repair without dealer
Update: car parked on incline in driveway so when alarm went on I started car and turned it around - after 1 min. alarm went off.
