Default Re: Clutch Replacement!

I have never seen a dual mass flywheel in real life so I have to ask.
The old flywheels were just ground and put back in if the ring gear was OK. so why not regrind, and replace the friction material and springs?
I realize that the friction pad is probably bonded but if it was OK it should be easier.
Would it not be possible to just bolt the whole thing together with no movement between the flywheel halves. How much vibration can there be anyway.
Just asking.
I treat mine gently and at those prices I'll treat it even better from now on.
