If you'd like to look beyond the ordinary (or should I say common?), you should check into the various civilian versions of H&K rifles (like the G-36), FN rifles (like the FAL), or even the civilian Styer AUG. Each is a proven design and used by various militaries around the world. Personally, I'd trade my Colt for an HK or FN any day.
