My monte carlo needs another coat of wax or two, but it's so bad I don't want to put it on right now. I don't think I'll be able to keep the surface clean in the time it takes to put on wax.

What kind of wax did you previously put on it? In my experience any sealant is going to attract more dust and what not compared to a carnauba wax. Mainly because of the oils in the sealant it attracts everything!
Never had this problem with a coat of Meguiar's m26 or m16 though, give it a try! Also pick some of this QD it does wonders against build up from sitting.
