Oh, I know you weren't! I did the same, but the 3" thinwall is one helluva' tight fit on the drivers' side, ain't it?
And so far, they just come flush on the front-no additions. Yet.
I'm thinkin' of a 2-piece setup, rectangular in the rad wall, but transitioning to 3" on both the inside and the outside. Believe it or not, I have 1 of the closest things right in my garage-it's an adapter for my trimmer/blower from Sears. 1 1/2" X 4 1/2" to 3" round. ~ 7" square. No loss of cross-section.
Now I've just got to find 3 more?
