if you want to downshift the auto, that is fine and with the safeguards put into the new trannys, it shouldn't be a problem. In the old days, there wasn't a relief for the pressure created when down shifting and you would ruin the tranny....again, the more you use it, the warmer it will get...so, a quick run thru the twisties at the Dragon for example is all I would want to do, and give it a rest...normal driving should not be a problem at all....and to answer the other question...yes, you can put in first, floor it, don't do anything, and the tranny will shift to 2nd, then you can shift to 2nd, the tranny will shift to 3rd, then you shift to 3rd and so on...but, 1 warning...if you wait for it to shift into 5th...you are now at 130....or better...with a tune......lol
