I have run wires for gauges and switches thru the fuse comparment on the driver's side, under the hood.

Take the cover off, then pop the fuse panel out.

Now, go in the car, remove the trim from under the dash, above the pedals and the trim from the wall on the left side. If you shine strong light up under the dash, you will be able to see that light thru the bottom of the fuse box under the hood! Run your wires and put the trim back!

Worked for me. I do not intend to give a blow-by-blow description, if I can do it, ANY certified idiot can!
