Hello all,
I am considering to buy a used 2005 SRT-6 Crossfire in the next month or so and I had some questions and concerns about the vehicle and reliability.
I have done some research but wanted to come directly to other owners on certain things I am still not certain about.
1. If you could let me know of any major flaws (if any) with the 2005 model I should be concerned about.
- Such as transmission failure
There have been some issues with the spider gears in the differentials failing, but only for those owners who drag race their SRTs on a very regular basis.
- Auto stick issues
The only issue some will say is the lack of gear changing under certain throttle pressures. This can be alleviated by performing a throttle reset and the instrutions can be found here using the search function.
- Anything really that can help me make my decision clearer.
2. How do you like your SRT-6?
Love it, absolutely fantastic car. Best bang for you buck by far.
3. How much space is in the back of it and if I could actually fit some items back there if I need to.
You can fairly easily fit a couple sets of golf clubs in the back or enough luggage for a weekend roadtrip.
4. What kind of vehicle mods are available and the difficulty of modding on the SRT-6 is like.
Modifications for the vehicle are not as extensive as some other Import cars (i.e. Nissan/Honda/blah blah blah) and the modifications for this car are not cheap. My personal preference: Needswings Dual CAI, 181/185mm Crank Pulley, Eurocharged ECU Tune, and then also Eurocharged Heat Exchanger or Needswings Supercooler.
