When I had my repair shops I would tell my customers that the "fluid" is ALWAYS cheaper than the "part" that the fluid is in---ALWAYS!!!! "Overkill?" maybe! But with the price of a new or rebuilt supercharger, the oil change is worth it.
It amazes me that people will change their oil every 3000 miles when the "book" says 7500 miles, but will never change the other fluids that are in or near the same "HOT" engine---just blows my mind. Coolant, brake fluid, power steering fluid, transmission fluid and now supercharger oil in some minds never breaks down or wears at all. Well, it does---so I have always said that if you plan on keeping the car, change all fluids at half the rate of the book---overkill? maybe. But it is cheap insurance, and can NEVER hurt, if the change is done correctly. Jimmy
