As for the safety aspect - it's worth having the spoiler go up - it's there for a reason; not just show. Remember what happened to Audi TT drivers before spoilers were fitted... see
HERE although some say it was much a do about nothing; there were fatal crashes in Germany. Rear end would lift and lose all control; wasn't just the spoiler on the TT though.. it had other issues also.
I'll keep that in mind the next time I'm driving "excessive" speeds on the "Autobahn".
But since the audible alarm doesn't go off until you reach speeds in excess of 95 mph., I think I'm OK crusin our Nations highways and By-ways on dry payment at close to the posted speed limit with my spoiler down.
But then that's just my opinion.
