I have insalled this on my SRT6, it is fantastic, there is quite a difference in response between three settings. I generally drive in "Sports Mode", more responsive than stock but still smooth, Race mode is so responsive it is not nearly as smooth, but great fun when out for a play.
As for your question, It stays on the selected setting until you change it.
