As a Crossfire Tech, I've got a noisy engine in my bay now. Due to the oil pump being chain driven, I believe it is responsible for my current noise.
As for "Lifters" and "adjusters", simply, the Crossfire 3.2 has hydraulic (engine oil pressureized) tensioners for all the chains slinging around, and the valvetrain lash adjusters are hydraulic, as well.
Due to the valvetrain actuating 3 valves instead of 2 or 4, there are a few sounds not cancelled out by other parts, thus we hear them more pronounced.
