I don't know I kinda like it. I understand where JHM2K is coming from but to my eyes it ties in the lower grill. I would not paint the wings..........I don't know what you used to paint the grill but when painting the wings you are painting over chrome. Unless its done professionally I'd be afraid of peeling etc.
My suggestion is to leave it be for a bit and get used to what you have done. Looks really clean to me. It's all what you like, remember that.
