Default Fan Always On - Over Heating (new Member)

Hi everybody,

I am a new member (uk based)

I have just purchased my first cross fire 2004 model 3.2 V6 auto,
it is 20 degrees today and when i am driving it the cooling fan is constantly staying on, the gauge needle is around halfway sometime a little bit higher, the car doesnt actually overheat but its worrying me.

There is no sludge in the oil or coolant tank so doesnt point to the head gasket, anyone got any ideas ? or is this even normal ?

Thank you u all kindly for your advice.

Chris
