You need a special tool to install this properly. Did you notice any belt wear on the belt before the pulley was off? This would indicate improper seating of the pulley from the start. They fit, we have them on our car. I would go back to the shop and demand that they fix it. That could have caused a lot of damage if it flew off at the wrong time.
