The only time I ever hit the rev-limiter, is when I'm racing Harleys.
For some reason Harley's riders are the only drivers that ever try me.
Since I almost always drive with my window down, (and I usually shift by ear), most every Harley is so un-gawdly loud, I can't hear my motor.
Every car I own has a factory tach, but sometimes I just forget to use it.
