I think the autos are set at 5800.

Mine is now set gears one, two three at 6300. I am almost never there holding at 6000.
Gears four, five, and six, are set at 5800 RPM's

These engines are good to 6800 easy. The worst you should get at those RPM's is valve float, which should do nothing as it isn't an interference engine.
Franc....mine, bone stock was around 6100 or 6200. It happens pretty quick at that RPM but it was surely WAY ABOVE 5470. It's now at approx. 6350 in all gears (up through 4th anyway....haven't hit it in 5th or 6th). I can only assume that it would be the same since RPM is RPM, no matter what gear you are in (engine RPM).
