Deb Walker's '04 had a fan motor failure not two months ago.
Electric motors CERTAINLY have a limited life - most electronic modules, if treated right, can last for a LONG time (with heat, water and electric surges being the culprits behind most failures).

I think we've just stumbled onto another common problem with the Crossfire - the fan motor.
Maybe we are all learning something... something to be ready for.

Sure beats a bad Fan Control Module - they are even more money.
