Just got back from a trip. Filled up the day before I went, drove pretty hard for about 30 miles. Then on the trip I drove pretty gently, never getting over 80mph.
Anyway, going by the odometer and how much gas I used, I got 27mpg on that tank!!!!
What was the difference from normal? Well the mostly gentle driving was a big part. But another thing, I used real gas, not that 10% ethanol crap you find most of the time.
So it really does give better gas mileage. It cost a lot more, at $3.29 per gallon (vs $2.75ish normally) but it is more efficient.
I would say how much more efficient than equal driving, but I've never had that much gentle driving in a trip before.
I'm going to sleep now.
