Re: The day has come
Good Luck there Cyril.
It all seems so easy, I thought the same thing guys. It really isn't worth the money your going to spend on a hybrid intake system. The thing that you have to keep in the back of your mind, is Turbulence. I have already done what your talking about. The increase is as minimal as the guys at green filter say. And the whole reason why they aren't sure whether or not they are going to put it in the line up, is because of the market for it. From what I can tell, is the A lot of the Crossfire Owners are waiting for the next guy to take the plunge first. No one wants to be the guy to make a purchase of more then just a couple bucks, and come to find out that it isn't as big of a jump as they had dreamed up in there mind.
The other thing that I think people loose sight of is the "#". Everyone wants that little HP+ # next to the add, to be in the 20-30 HP+ range. They want the "55 HP GAIN FOR ONLY $29.95". You would be amazed at what an added 10 Horses to your car feels like. As far as performance gains in the "just bolt on and go level", are not leaps and bounds like you would find with adding a Super Charger. If you like #'s, buy a Super Charger, there are a couple to many numbers in that Line up.
You get what you pay for. You want 120 HP+ gain. It will cost you about 10k. You want 30-40 HP gain, you can achieve that for about 1000-1200.00. It all depends on Pain Vs. Pleasure.
The way I live my life is, why talk about how great it would be.... I rather live the life. I'm not afraid of losing money on a mod. You have to take chances in order to a achieve that blissful feeling you get when you pull away from that New Acura, or whatever. Its little moments like that, drive you to want that added performance. I have a motto that I say every morning before I start my day. It is, "Live the Dream Everyday." What it means to me is live those little moments everyday of your life.
I know this thread has taken a turn, but it is like Zen in the art of High Performance.
