Well guys after reading through the 15 pages, i think you all got me convinced. I might have to jump on the band wagon and get one of these.
But i do got a few questions, maybe some of you can help me out. I will probably give Devin a call tomorow or friday if i can find some free time at work, and get all set up. But if some of you have asked him the same Q's, im sure hes a busy guy, and i dont want to take up too much of his time
Im would consider myself pretty automovtive savy, but when it comes down to LSD's things can get a bit foggy for me (never really was exposed to much other then friction type LSD's in trucks). First, i would like to know, if this diff would work good in a daily driver, from what ive read, it seems like the "LSD" effect doesnt kick in untill noticeable outside wheel spin occurs, allowing the car to steer normaly in normal traffic?
Im guessing that it would be a fairly simple bolt in mod (simple as in no additional machining or super special parts that are hard to find up here)?
Would it tick off the T/C? or ABS?
And lastly, the backlash, how hard is it to fine tune one of these? Ive rebuilt a few engines in my side time (mostly high performance 2 strokes and 4 strokes (snowmobiles and seadoos)), so i know all about clearances and such. are the shims or tuning parts easy to get access to north of the border (ie from a benz dealer or such (for quick access))
Any help would be great guys, reason i really want one of these is because the past 2 weeks we have had alot of rain, and i just can stand one wheel peel any more, especialy when the T/C has a seizure when it notices any wheel spin.
Plus i think that things such as good brakes and a solid drivetrain are important before doing any HP speed mods. (The brakes on our cars already kick butt)
