I have to agree....this would be the first mod I would do....over any other mod for the money.... Every thing after that is just golden.... BTW....over 4K on the roadster and the coupe, and no problems what so ever....

You guys are causing me to move the WaveTrac installation up on my priority list.

If your going to drive it hard you need a Wavetrac. With the installation the ole pocket gets a shock but I'm happy I did it.

Revisiting an old thread how are the wavetracs today? Getting ready to change my rear diff oil soon. I will be looking for shavings or signs of wear? 7k miles on the coupe 5k on the roadster.

Hi Doc. Changed my diff oil a few months ago. I didn't notice any shavings and didn't notice any wear problems either. Really do like the Wavetrac. It made a real difference in stability during rapid acceleration events. Used to be that the car's rear end would slip off to the left (my left when sitting in the seat) before snapping back. But since I installed the Wavetrac it has been only a straight movement forward when the rear wheels are spinning on launch. Looking forward to your update, and your assessment regarding shavings or wear.

Working like a charm. I consider this an essential mod even though it's pricey, and I continue to be grateful that it was (is?) available to overcome the cheap/ridiculous "traction control" that MB/Chrysler shipped with the car. As Coyote points out, the car is rather unsafe without it. Especially if you up the horsepower.

An essential component that Mercedes/Chrysler left off the car. I think I have put more than 80,000 miles on mine (SLK32) and no issues at all.

Cheers,
Chris

Thanks for the update. Next weekend I will see how it goes. Nice to see all the familiar names pop up. Love the cars. I have inner coolers to replace transmissions to flush. I have fell behind getting back into trucking. Retire for good this time come January. More time to play. no more trucking…

Well, retirement on hold going to 1 more year! Cars are fine! Wavetracs have several thousand miles on them!

Good luck Doc, when I separated from the Air Force, I missed it a lot... I missed the comraderies, the friendships, the mutual experiences about where and what we done, and the aura of belonging to something greater than I... I would go back in a second, but only if they lifted the age limit (which might be possible due to the apathy of ppl nowadays). Sign me up, again!
