Took the car to its first event to have some fun but it failed inspection because of play in the front passenger wheel. There are no noises coming from the wheel, and the wheel spins smoothly by hand with no binding. My first thought was the hub bolt is a little loose, but after doing some research, according to the service manual, this minor amount of play is normal. Checking both wheels, I confirmed there is play in both of them. The side that failed appears to be more noticeable, however. I'm all but convinced there is nothing wrong. How do I convince the inspectors of this if they aren't familiar with it? I don't want to waste time fixing a problem that doesn't exist, nor do I want to waste half my day going to another event only to have a hard time getting it through tech.
