Lube 'em up a bit - for something like this I would use some ArmorAll or equivalent. Won't harm rubber, vinyl, plastic or paint and makes these parts slick so they slide right back together. Works well on vacuum lines too.

No special tools required to remove the isolators. Just some brute force. They pop right back in as well. If don't just pop back in, you may have to force them in a little. They'll go in though so you shouldn't be worried about that.
