Titanium is as strong or stronger than steel and about the same weight as aluminum. The Titanium pulley will by far out last the Aluminum one. I'm not sure what types of coating you can put on titanium though. For example, the Aluminum pulleys get anodized for protection and to reduce/eliminate belt slip.
