Hrm sounds like they didn't do too well of a job if you have to use shims. Not sure what there shop tolerances are but ours is +-0.1mm on lengths,
+-0.05mm on diameters and holes, +-0.5degrees on angles. Anywho, how thick of shims do you need? Maybe take it back to the shop and have them make you some?
Lance, that's not a valid assumption. As I mentioned, the pulley I had machined down was not the original pulley off my car, it was a stock pulley I purchased from someone else. It would have needed a shim regardless of whether it was machined or not. Evidently not all the SC are exactly the same as the C3 pulley also came with shims to ensure a correct clearance to the SC clutch.

I may indeed have to have some made if I can't get my hands on some existing ones. I talked to HPA and they don't have any.

I think it would be fantastic if someone could once again make a pulley from scratch. There was obviously a market for them. In looking at them closely, I think the biggest challenge isn't the pulley itself, but rather the friction plate and the springs that give it some play and allow it to disengage.
