Well, to my recollection the pads don't contact the rotors all the way to the edge....so as the rotor wears down you can feel a "lip".....
I've never heard the "lip" as a reason they can't be turned... maybe that's not BS ??? Anyone understand why that might be true?
At $789 for fronts only....I'd be inclined to say , "Just put on new pads & skip the turning (if it can't be done) or new rotor". At least till someone told me the rotors are so thin that they might fail...
Last week I had new front rotors & pads put on a Chevy HHR....total cost with tax was $261....& ya know the XF front rotors don't look like they should cost 3X as much???
