Looks to me like Sik SRT-6 has the solution here - economical & will run the fog lights only. CTC Sarnia must know about the dash light warning, and are backing off because of it. But their module will work well enough to pass the RIV if you can live with the warning light. And all you need to do is remove the fuse from it later, and all goes back to normal.
