I don't think there is a whole heck of a lot of difference between Mobil1 0W- vs 5W-40, unless you live where it gets REAL COLD. I tend to use a mix of 0W-30 (which I can buy in 5 qt containers) and the rest 0W-40. Since I don't drive either Crossfire in the winter, I don't have to worry about real thick oil. On the other hand, I drive my A6 2.7T (bi-turbo) extensively in the winter and always use 0W-40. It's worked for 178k so far. The only real difference between most of the synthetics is their marketing campaigns. They are all going to work the same in your engine.
