I'm sure I'll regret posting this one -
My 84 year old mother had Alzheimer's and when she got bad we put her into a home. Nowadays all of the homes are smoke free here in Maine and she had smoked since she was 10 so we had a problem.
The first time I came in to see her (actaully the next day) she asked for her cigarettes. Being a wise ***, I told she had never smoke and I didn't know what she was talking about. Instantly I saw a very quizical look come over her face so I pushed the point and reassured her she never smoke.
That night I called alll my familiy and told them what happended and encouraged them to do the same thing. This is what we all did and after about a week she quit asking amnd that was the end of the issue.
Sneaky I know but it worked.
