Well, that's what I do.... a wash mit and Mequiars' car wash shampoo and conditioner - I use it on the whole car. Andy is right, probably some detail spray and a applicator towel is all that is needed, but I am COMPULSIVE about washing my car!
But just be careful, I allowed a LITTLE water to trickle down to those two connectors and five wires that plug into the assembly in the gas tank... corroded the wires and gave me a false indication of high tank pressure - turned the ENGINE light on! Only took 20 mins to clean the connectors and fix it, but still...
