I was on a two lane blacktop and a car ahead was stopped trying to turn left across traffic. Well, the Explorer in front of me went around the stopped car and I followed. Unfortunately, there was a drive on the right side and as I went around the stopped car, I basically cut off the police officer as he was pulling out to nab the Explorer. Needless to say, the Explorer got away clean and I got the ticket. I'm really not looking forward to the 120 days of court supervision. Oh well, live and learn.
I got almost the same ticket, driving up a main street at about 7:30 am. The 2 lanes of traffic were backed up almost a mile and I pulled to the right paved 20 foot shoulder and drove about 10 mph to the light. Because I was going to turn right at the signal and a cop was there writing tickets to all that did the same. He said it was for emergencies only! I said it was one! He wrote his pissy as* ticket! We have to get some cops that know how to help traffic instead of enforcing the mass $$$s tickets. I wasn't driving my Crossfire.
