That's the 4G63T : Mitsubishi Sirius engine - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It was used in every Diamond Star Motors car (Plymouth Laser, Mitsubishi Eclipse, Eagle Talon) and every Lancer Evo through the Evo IX.

It's light and can be built to put out pretty crazy power (just like most little FI 4-cylinders) - builds with north of 500hp are pretty common, and it even had 400+hp stock applications in some limited-run Evos. DSMs weighed more than the Crossfire, so the 4G63T should do just fine in the XFire load/torque-wise.

I'll leave ChuckNorris to explain why he himself chose the 4G63T though
