To make a long story short... I've been working two full time jobs. I was working a weekend shift and I picked up a 1st shift job building 11-15 liter diesel short blocks at Navistar(International Harvester). This will be my first weekend off in over a year. I also bought a 95 Eclipse GST that needed some maintenance done before I could start using it as my DD. The Crossfire is running awesome, I will make a video of it this weekend. The engine is fully broke in and I turned the boost up to 12 psi yesterday evening and made a couple of 1st-2nd gear pulls. There is one thing that is really bugging me though. I think the passenger side strut is damaged. It's making the same crunchy clicking sound that a bad cv joint makes when I turn sharp to the left. I jacked it up last night with the wheel off and I can't find anything loose so this is my best guesstimation. I'm going to try spraying all the rubber bushings with silicone first.

I did get a 3" Coleman Racing Aluminum driveshaft installed which fixed my driveline issues. It's a tight fit. Sorry for the bad cell phone pic.

MaxxForce Engines.... and the rest Doc, is just misinformation lol. Sorry, I work for Navistar as well in Lisle at the World Headquarters. I would say small world that you got a job at Navistar but when their engines are forged, assembled and put into trucks that are assembled in the USA, its not hard find crossroads.

As for the car(s), cool to see some progress on the little time you have. Every time I look at my Crossfire lately I miss my DSM because of ECMlink lol.

I'll make a couple more videos next weekend. I'm picking up some hardware Friday for my methanol injection and will be turning the boost up. Goes about 62mph in 1st gear and I let off at 6k in 2nd ~110. I'll verify my top speed with the gps next time.

I am now running 18psi with 400cc of denatured alcohol being injected above 10 psi. Zero knock. I am still tracing down a weird rattling sound. I pulled the front wheels off to check all the front end components and ended up lowering my car while I had it all apart. I just cut one coil all the way around. So I kinda got sidetracked with that. I plan on making a couple of WOT pulls tomorrow if I can track this noise down. I think my exhaust turned out pretty good.

Glad you are making progress on the car. I miss my 4G63 platform at times.

Doc, you can't go wrong with a ProStar or ProStar+. Thousands of customizations(like most class 8 trucks on the market) and 11,13 and 15L big bore engine options. Each with 2-3 hp variants. Next year International will have a Cummins/Clean Power natural gas option as well. I know I may seem bias since I work at Navistar, but other than the T680 from Kentworth, I dont think any other modern aero-style tractor on the market is as sexy as the ProStar.

yep, the 680 I looked at as well.... MaxiForce/ProStar+ is what the company is looking at. They haven't pulled the trigger yet, but looks like the way they are heading. I had a mechanic in Springfield, OH tell me the shafts in the Bosch fuel pumps were breaking.

Now, you would think we are hyjacking this thread with deisel talk, but we aren't. We are cross/talking while talking cross/fires....lol..... Glad to have an update on your build, and can't wait to see the topend numbers on this little baby....it will turn some heads, especially with that weird exhaust sound coming from a crossfire....lol...

I'm thinking about selling the car. I'll sell it whole or as a roller to anyone who wants to do a V8 swap. I need some cash for a down payment on a second home. As you can see by how frequently I post updates, I really don't have time to devote to this project anymore. Anyone interested can PM me for more info.

I have a good offer on my engine and trans setup. I'm looking for offers on the car without them.

Off-topic: I love the fact that you guys still like the DSMs as much as I do. I get dogged every time I show up at a club meet for my other forum driving my '98 Eagle talon.

Not sure if you have already talked to Rudy Compart, but last I talked with him, he was looking for a crossie platform to experiment with, may be a match made in heaven...

Sorry to hear about the build.
