That sounds like the dreaded transmission connector leak. Check out the threads on here. There are some DIY instructions to fix it. Also, info on what to be aware of if you take it to a shop to have the work done. If the connector comes off like it should, the fix is pretty inexpensive (80-120 bucks). The part is only about 15 bucks. If it doesn't, and the internal connector screw is stripped, things get complicated and more expensive. Good luck.
