how many miles on your xfire? major problems?
I was passing 84.000km. Only small problems inbetween and all has been solved. Now I think it is "well done", best condition it ever had. I' am looking forward to the next 84.000km
By the way: Every time on the Autobahn I cant breake throu 243km/h (GPS controlled)), although in the papers the car is listet with a maximum speed of 250 km/h - perhaps a coming up defekt.... (*duck and cover*

Think it's the heavy propane gas tank in the rear.
My car immaculately reaches the 250's since i threw off the heavy subwoofer in the trunk.
i have 2004 crossfire been driving it for a while from laguna hills to san diego cause my work is there 4 years 182,000 miles no problem just oil change and belts and its good again .
67k Milies on my recently purchased '05 SRT6. As a normal precaution, I sent a sample of the oil to BlackStone Labs to be analized. The results show nothing out of the oridinary. Nice!

Just shy of 110k. Just broke one or more of the motor mounts or transmission mount. Idling rough and shifter rides back and forth on hard acceleration. About $30 each, a wrench and jack, and some quality time underneath.
While I'm down there, I will replace the steering stabilizer too since thats just a matter of two bolts.
I have a quirky wipers issue where they just randomly go off. I've found moisture in the fuse box under the hood so I suspect that to be the cause. This seems to be unique to my car though because nobody else has encountered this from what I've heard and read.

Clutch has been rattling sense the tranny was replaced (dealer messed it up) would not warranty because its a wear item
Car is on its third windshield (keeps cracking during winter storage)
05 srt 900 miles
Dragstrip ****
Smells like burnt tires don't know how that happened lol

My crossfire has 224,586 miles and never any serious problems. Never been to the dealer or any shop except for tires and alignments ( I think that's the key). One acident and the body shop. That's all. At 100,000 miles, the crank position sensor went, but I changed it along with the plugs. I really think it was plugs.
I really love this car. It is really tough, because I'm really rough on cars.
It was down for about 5 days. That was due tires.
Idler pulley once
Windshield (Gun shot)
Condenser (******* poked a hole in it)
Leaking oil filler neck(change valve cover with neck)
Right now have a codes for secondary air pump and egr valve(I don't really believe it, but I going to change them both or the relay control module)
That's pretty much all I can think of right now.

liljay;
sounds like the xf has been a really good car. EGRvalve could probably be flushed ( cleaned) and work fine, air pump could be dirty too.

Just hit 83,000 miles on my '04 the other day. I'm still loving the car and plan to hit at least double that before I get rid of it. It's been great to me so far.
117000 miles on my 04 limited 6 speed.
Replaced Crankshaft position sensor at 50k (cheap DIY fix)
replaced entire ignition lock after complete freeze up at 55k (my bad for not getting it fixed while it was just sticking) ($1400 in shop)
Alternator went out at 65k (cheap DYI) (got one from a junk yard for $50 and its working to this day)
AC compressor locked up and broke my belt at 90k. still haven't gotten it fixed yet. gonna buy a kit off ebay for $200 and have my friend do it.
Other than that it runs like a charm. I've got the belt bypassing the compressor altogether (bought a custom shorter length belt to do this) but unfortunately its also bypassing the tensioner in order to do this. Belt is still tight after almost 30k miles of not being on a tensioner!!! (squeals a littler when cold but otherwise fine)
Hoping I don't have to do much else. I have that air pump emission error code thing...I really don't think theres a fix for that. People seem to have replaced EVERYTHING including the relay control module itself and the air pump and the tubes and blue valve and re-soldered and still had the light...I think it's a ECU thing that you can't ever get them to admit and pay for / replace. Mine is well past that warranty anyway.
PS: If I grandpa the hell out of it and put it in cruise at 60mph on a long trip I can get 33mpg!! 30 or 31 was the max before I had to ghetto rig the belt the way it is.
Anyone have higher mileage than this? I'm curious if I have anymore to worry about...

WOW! You win the high mileage award, the previous high post I've read here was a lady with 176,000 on her SRT last year.

60,480 miles. Fan motor and module replaced at about 40,000 miles. Water pump replaced at 58,000. Seat heaters fixed once, have to bring car in again as other parts of the heaters died this time. Two headlights, three tail lights, front brakes, oil, rear tires. Still have original Contis on the front. Will replace before the winter.
So... I have 41k miles on my Auto '05 Limited Roadster and I don't know where to start!
Dealer fixes so far... (Under Extended Warrenty thank god
)
Tire monitor system replaced
Right headlight housing replaced due to leak
Replaced Valve cover and valve cover gasket
Replaced two O2 sensors ($400 each!)
"Minor Overhaul" on Transmission
This car has been a blast to have and drive but it has had soooo many issues with it! And repairs and parts are not cheap. Even with all of the troubles, I still love my XF to death and will never sell it.

2004 auto. 91,000 miles..running fine until today. Thought it was a mystery no start....until I got it to start and the check engine sensor came on. No warning, was running fine. Waiting to hear back-hoping not to get gouged.
Almost 86k miles now and I'm going to replace the fuel filter, flush the radiator and replace the crankshaft position sensor on Monday when I change my oil.
CEL came on for what I'm assuming is the crankshaft sensor but I'll find out for sure on Monday.

Glad you asked... 79K miles on my 2005 Limited Coupe. I love the thing but it hasnt been particularly cheap to maintain.
Engine Control Module, about $2500 under warranty
Crankshaft Position Sensor, replaced it myself thanks to stuff i learned on this forum, about $90 and one hour
Fuel pump. Wow, the pump itself is a little over $500. Paid another $150 to have the dealer install it.
Three TPMS sensors, about $65 each, unmount, remount, and rebalance tires about $25 each.
Three sets of really expensive Pilot Sport PS2s ( around $1200 per set monted and balanced)
Things I did myself - steering damper replaced once, four shocks, once.
Did I mention I still love the damn car?
