Default What does a "Tune" do?

This is for the smart guys out there. What does the "tune" entail? Is it a matter of changing limitations or is it changing specifics. In other words, since our computer is rather sophisticated and as I discovered with my post when doing my exhaust and changing the post CAT sensors, the computer learns, and we have to give it time to make adjustments. Has anyone made some major mods without getting a tune and just allowed the computer to learn and make adjustments on it's own? I did have the speed limiter removed when I got my 2nd tune from Inmotion, so good for that but I'd like to think that my $$$ really did something special. Maybe Rob or one of the guys at EC will chime in and shed some light on exactly what we are doing.

Look up ECS Tuning on the web and call or email them.
