Default how many miles on your xfire? major problems?

The crossfire has been out for a while now and I'm just curious how high the miles are getting on some of the xfires in the forum and what kind big problems you've had, if any. I'm approaching 50k on an '05 and haven't had any problems whatsoever - pretty impressive for an American/German car. Previously, I had a '98 M Roadster (spent a lot of time at the shop) and an RSX (many small problems, but no engine problems).
Anyone up to 100k yet??

20k on my SRT problems so far
- Radiator fan inoperative causing overheating (Fixed under recall)
- Dome Lights, key transmitters not working (Fixed under warranty)
- Headlight condensation (Fix attempted but failed...Not Fixed)
- Door Rattle (Not Fixed)
- Driver Side Wind Noise (Dealer Did not recognize the issue... Not Fixed)

There are some crossfires for sale with mileage over 80k... but thats the highest I have yet seen..

Ah yes, that reminds me. I took my car in because the convertible top was making a clicking sound. Chrysler did a great job of confirming the annoying sound, but told me it was not able to be fixed because that is just the sound of plastic parts rubbing plastic parts. I immediately sent their quote, which was on the work order resolution, to Dr. Z. They claimed that they were going to call me. I replied to their email several times... and, nothing. I don't hear the sound much anymore- could be the magnaflow, though.

45K miles and nothing that I'm aware of. Of course, I've only owned it myself for about 3 months.

45K... just ordered a fuel filter, spark plugs, and the new-design fog lamp assemblies. no problems at all.

I saw one at a local car lot that had 96K on it, automatic, '04 model Coupe.

Still drove very nice, looked and sounded great.

The only thing I noticed wrong with it was a lot of nicks/scrapes in the paint on the center console.

Otherwise, it shifted, drove, and seemed great!

I have no idea how people manage to achieve such a high mileage on such a car in such a short period of time... that would mean that they drove over 30k miles every year...?!? that much...

The seller said it belonged to a traveling businessman.

Either way - I was impressed with the way the car held up for a 96K mile car...which is a lot of the reason I just bought mine yesterday.

The only thing that concerns me is the painted console pieces - seems they should've done something more durable here.

lol, I was in sales for a few years a little while back and I would drive about 30k miles a year, but I drove a hybrid crossover. why in the hell would you buy a crossfire to do traveling sales in, for one it cant hold much and two it is not the most comfortable car to be in for 9+ hours straight, which i know by experience due to having to drive my car up from sacramento, ca to pdx, oregon.

I can't say as I am not the salesman who drove it 30k miles.

BUT, I will say that I'd MUCH RATHER drive a Crossfire 30k miles a year than a Prius or any other Hybrid, regardless of comfort. Especially if the company covered the fuel/maintenance.

Whether it is because I am young and limber, or just THAT much of a car enthusiast, I am not sure...but you wouldn't catch me in a Prius if I had that type of Sales position. I'd be driving the coolest car I could reasonably afford.

There's a guy here near my office, different company, who sells interior design materials. He drives a Ferrari, daily. If you can afford it, why not? You only live once.

Luckily my work keeps me within 20 miles for the most part...and I won't drive the Crossfire everyday because we bought it for the Wife.

i've got a terrible commute (70 miles a day roundtrip in los angeles traffic) and am getting well over 20k a year. luckily, i work on sunday mornings- i live for sunday mornings (35 miles of commute heaven). no regrets with the x-fire... yet.

My '04 had paint that came off the center console, I had 35k on it when I traded for an '05. Only problem I have found is that the dealership charges $175. for an oil change, yikes.

I'm new to this forum... I'm not new to the Crossfire...I just traded my '04 automatic with more than 88,000 trouble free miles for my new '05 Crossfire SRT6 just last week. If I get as good of service out of my new Crossfire I'd be thrilled. A Crossfire's a wonderful automobile as most everyone on this forum knows.

WOW! That's a lot of miles.
What do you do that you drive it that much?
Where are you located?
How do you like the SRT6?

Congrats on your new ride and welcome to the forum.

Thumbs up Re: how many miles on your xfire? major problems?

I'm in the Automotive Advertising business. I'm located and work in the Carolinas, Virginia and Georgia. As a traveling salesman I've been told by my accountant that I should drive a one or two year old Buick for business use and drive the wheels off of it...I could still enjoy my SRT6 Crossfire on the weekends...but with 2 kids in college...I can just afford one "business and fun" ride...my Crossfire. My friends and clients have all noticed the fact that my "new" car is another Crossfire and I get to see and drive many different vehicles at the various dealerships I work for.I guess that's a pretty good endorsement as to my past satisfaction with the Crossfire.
Being in the advertising business, I can't help but think what a terrible job Mercedes & Chrysler did marketing this vehicle. It's a wonderful automobile.
