I assumed it might be since you have a 2004 with 30,000 something miles. Why did you take the battery out of th car? If it was dead, you could have jump started it and with some driving around it would have rehcarged if it was good. You may have needed a new battery anyway.
This is a good point - is this just a case of poor communication? Is it that the battery was simply deemed defective, not even salvageable?
