Default Re: What would you pay for a new SRT?

Hey,
just having a little fun (tongue and cheek) and nothing personal taken. I bought the car to drive and enjoy, not to become a trailer queen that requires rubdowns every other day. I have 38,000 spirited miles on her so far and she’s weathered a few close calls with me. When I blow it up I’ll worry about it then… It’s all about the moment.

My only concern is these darn "texting while driving" kids and soccer moms on the road. I’ve had three close calls while driving my Dodge 2500 4x4 already, when driving the roadster I'm doing 90+ running away from them. I also find it difficult to drive in the French Quarter with the top down because of all the drunks trying to climb in!

Hey Doc come down any time, I live less than ten minutes from Bourbon St!

Enjoying the ride ¼ mile at a time!

If you notice they depreciate more on age then miles. The older the car and the more miles the less the value. I have a similiar issue with the way they value houses by the square foot regardless of the quality, etc. It is a formula and that is what the industry loves -- dealers, banks, insurance companies, etc. want. They don't have to think. So I guess if you keep the car for 10 or 15 years it will be at what rock bottom is. I would suggest around $1000 - 2000 in today's dollars. If in fact fossil fuel really tanks then it may approach zero. I realize this does not make it any easier for us who love our xfires.

You are correct. Don't have an accident or there is a great chance it will be totaled. REmember they love formulas and the 80% rule. If not for the amount but for lack of parts. Most body shops don't want cars hanging around for months waiting for parts. Better known as hanger queens. You may at some point store the car and bring it back to them when all the parts are in.

I love my Crossfires BUT .... Nothing is going to change the reality of the industry.
