So, frustrated, he asked, "You SURE it is not in the car???" I showed him it wasn't in the car - even took the air compressor, tire sealer and jack out of the trunk.

The key was under the jack.

I usually keep the locking lug bolt socket in the glovebox when I've used them. Just makes it easier to get at for work at tire shops and at home. I don't want to have to access the spare equipment out of the trunk storage area unless I have to. Anyway, glad you were able to find it. Now you only need to decide whether to keep the security lugs installed or go back to standard versions.
