The real key to this, like anything else, is to stay on top of it. A minute of preventive maintenance every time you wash your car is a whole lot easier, and keeps things looking better longer, than doing a major correction after you've let it go to heck in handbasket. Any decent metal polish will do - Meguiar's, Mother's, NevrDull, etc. You shouldn't need a tool like the Mother's Power Ball or Meguiar's DynaCone if you keep up with it.

If you liked having the wax on there, you'd better apply it again now - that combo of 409 and vinegar took it all off!
