As a friendly side note- the word erosion refers to beaches and rocks being worn by the movement of water. Corrosion is when a metal is oxidized.
haha many thanks for helping me out with the vocabulary! Okay, it has corroded. The whole liftgate was "filled" with sand. It may have been driven in Vegas, California or FL. Somewhere with a lot of sand. So I guess that rules it out. It may have gotten the sand from when it was crashed.
