A few years ago this was a problem which led to cut belts. Tighed1 started the thread as his belt was ruined.
The solution to the problem is shown in this drawing.
The LET water pump pulleys shattered due to the walls and radii being to small. Look for cracks in the wall that has the bolts in it.
I trust you machined off the correct amount from the correct face.
